Sunnyfield is a large financially sound organisation with profitable revenues expected to exceed $150 million in the next few years. With a strong Board and Leadership Team and advisors like McKinsey, in an industry undergoing significant growth, the organisation now needs a highly experienced senior executive for the exciting next phase.

The purpose of this challenging role is to identify and develop "new business" opportunities in line with approved annual business plans with a clear focus on "new" revenue and "new" client growth. You will also be required to set up and operationalise "new business" opportunities and to utilise networking intelligence to identify and develop potential mergers and acquisitions.

The successful candidate will be degree qualified in a Business/Management discipline. You will have strong senior management experience across new business development ideally in a sizable organisation. You must have very good communication skills, strong report writing and financial capabilities, an eye for detail, able to quickly grasp complex issues and actively engage in strategic and commercial debates.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Work closely with the General Manager New Business developing "new business" opportunities that fit within our agreed Strategic Plan.
  • Develop and input into business cases for CEO/Board approval leading to the securing of "new" client revenue.
  • "New Business" growth is profitable with a positive return on investment.
  • A lead role in operationalising the "new" Business Centre for hand over to the relevant Manager.
  • Be a lead "hunter" in Sunnyfield's strategic growth plans.
  • Monitor, control and provide accurate and timely advice and regular project reports to the General Manager New Business & Senior Leadership Team as required.
  • When fully operational, transition through a project plan, the "new business" to the relevant operational division.


You will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Proven business development or commercial ability in a human services sector or similar
  • Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to identify and act on opportunities
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with experience of leading complex negotiations from start to finish
  • Outstanding negotiation skills and persuasive ability
  • Entrepreneurial, action orientated, tenacious and innovative
  • A high degree of integrity and work ethic.
