Sunnyfield is a large not-for-profit organisation with a Person Centred approach to providing services to people with disability.

We are looking for a Client Safeguarding Manager whose role will be to ensure that Sunnyfield meets its obligations under the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework with respect to the safeguarding of clients including those relating to reportable incidents and restrictive practices. You will provide leadership to support best practice approaches to the use of restrictive practices in Sunnyfield, and facilitate a reduction in the use of restrictive practices.

About the role:

  • Head of Sunnyfield's Response Team
  • Monitor and report regularly on reportable incidents
  • Liaise with the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Commission and other organisations relating to reporting incidents
  • Ensure appropriate processes are in place to undertake objective investigations into allegations of abuse and neglect
  • Review policies and processes to comply with all investigation and reporting requirements of the NSW Ombudsman and NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework
  • Provide expert support and guidance for staff in relation to the use of restrictive practices in the support of individual clients
  • Review the organisation's restrictive practices policies and procedures

The successful candidate will have:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience and understanding of the service delivery within the disability sector
  • Strong internal and external stakeholder management skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of the NDIS, the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework and the Framework for the Elimination of Restrictive Practices
  • Experience in positive behaviour management and knowledge of restrictive practices reduction strategies
  • Tertiary qualification in the social sciences
