We currently have a permanent part time opportunity of 45 hours per fortnight for a Community Support Worker to join our group home in the north area of Canberra, ACT.

 In this role, you will be required to:

  • Actively support residents using a Person Centred focus, to enable them to increase their independence and achieve their personal goals.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal communication and organisational skills to be able to take on a key Support Worker Role
  • Organise and provide support with attendance and follow up on medical and health appointments. Complete relevant documentation and reporting.
  • Arrange meetings and activities for the residents of the house,
  • Report to the house manager and the resident's family, facilitating relationships.
  • Support residents in their own home and in the community with tasks such as personal care, cleaning, meal planning and preparation and outings including swimming lessons.
  • Demonstrate a contemporary attitude towards people with disability, including professionalism and integrity

 Successful applicants must have:

  • Valid Driver's Licence
  • Car with comprehensive car insurance
  • Working With Vulnerable People Card
  • First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain
  • Certificate III or IV in Disability or willingness to obtain 
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills using Microsoft Office and other relevant programs.
